Dolby Digital AC-3 missing: Realtek ALC892 / Creative Cambridge SoundWorks DeskTop Theater 5.1 Hi there, recently I purchased a new mainboard (ASUS Sabertooth X58, an internal soundchip ALC892 from Realtek. This mainbard has an internal S/PDIF-Connector which I connected to a coax cable for fitting the Dolby Digital AC-3 S/PDIF input of the Creative Cambridge SoundWorks DeskTop Theater 5.1 (model CSW3000, 998, As the SoundWorks has an internal Dolby decoder working it seems to be somewhat difficult to get the noise going. Simply connecting the cable does not work, neither tuning the Realtek sound driver.

It seems that the Realtek driver is missing an option to stream directly to the DTT5.1. Is there any possibility to get the combination working? Best regards, Ingo Wolfmller.

Similar Messages. I have a SB Li've! Digital card and a set of Creative Cambridge Soundworks 200 Speakers. The speakers consist of 4 satelites and sub woofer. My audio has been working flawlessly for several years until this weekend when I decided to reformat my dri've and re-install Windows XP Pro. I downloaded the dell drivers (card is from dell) and installed them and then installed the updates for them from this web site.

The problem I'm having (before and after applying the upfate) is that only two of the satelites emit sound! Furthermore when I run the creative diagnostic test app (all tests pass) and run the 'Test Speakers', the rear left spkr is identified properly; and the right front spkr is identified as rear right and no speakers are identified as front. My physical h/w configuration has not been touched during the re-install of windows. Any suggestions for getting my audio system working properly again? Thanks, Phil philo wrote: I have a SB Li've! Any suggestions for getting my audio system working properly again? Thanks, Phil I just opened my system and looked at the card. It has the following identification on it:. Model SB0200 3. Serial Number: MSB55 So perhaps it is not an SB Li've 5.

Digital as I previously thought; regardless I'm still having the same problems. When I downloaded and tried to install the SBLi've! Drivers indicated from on=&ProductName=Li've%2&ProductID=4857&model number=&driverlang=033&OS=0&drivertype=0&x=24&y=5 I received an error message that no soundblaster card could be found. When I searched for drivers by model (sb0200), the website said said, 'no such drivers'.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Phil. I questioned Minnetonka Audio Software about upgrading the licence from cs6 to cc, this is the reply: The subscription model and new licensing infrastructure employed by Adobe for Creative Cloud requires a new licensing mechanism for SurCode for Dolby Digital® 5.1 Encoder for Adobe Premiere Pro CC.

We at Minnetonka Audio are finalizing the upgrade policy for existing SurCode for Dolby Digital® 5.1 Encoder for Adobe Premiere Pro Creative Suite owners, and will provide that to you within 10 business days. Who knows what this means. Here is the latest About upgrading Surcode to CC: In the past, customers who purchased a license for the SurCode for Dolby Digital 5.1 Encoder (DDPP) in a previous release of the Adobe Creative Suite have been able migrate their license to each latest CS release free of charge - up through the current CS6 version. With the introduction of Adobe’s new Creative Cloud subscription plan, an all-new licensing mechanism for SurCode for Dolby Digital® 5.1 Encoder for Adobe Premiere Pro CC (UDDCC) is required.

For Existing SurCode for Adobe Products Customers: Permanent license activation on one computer for the built-in SurCode for Dolby Digital 5.1 Encoder module in Adobe Creative Cloud - Upgrade from DDPP to UDDCC. This update has been made available to our existing DDPP customers for a fee of $99.00 USD.SurCode for Dolby Digital® 5.1 Encoder for Adobe Creative Cloud UPGRADE- oducts/UDDCC. I had to email Minnetonka to get my serial number. The $99 fee translates to £69 for us in the UK. Well this seems to be a common problem but i cant seem to find the answer to it. Im trying to get the dolby digital light to work. Im using a dvd and have selected spidiff output on the dvd player (powerdvd).

I have a zc platinum sound card im not sure what setting are ment to be selected for explample cmss on/off or on dvd etc or anythin like that at the moment there on cmss off and digital output selected. On the actualy dtt3500 i've seleted fourpoint/5. And input selction digital din and nothing else. What have i done wrong can any explain many thanks.Dave?

I have a DTT3500 creative cambridge soundwork speaker system and X-fi sound card. I cannot for the life of me get all 5.1 speakers to work. I have tried everything. For a highend card you would thing that it would support 5.1 over digital. But it only support 2.1 over digital bad design if you ask me. Only front left, front right and subwooferno surrond.

And my DTT3500 only support 4 analog speakers, front and rear. So no center or subwooferWhat does creative recommend?Thank you for your time. Hello,I hope you can help me.Here is my problem:I have the speaker-system:cambridge soundworks desktop theatre 5.

Dtt 2500 digitaland now a Audigy 2 ZS.Everything is ok but the centre-speaker won't talk to me. I've connected the card with the spdif but I have to set the dtt decoder to 4 point surround to hear something from the rear speaker. Without setting to 4 point I can only hear the front speaker (stereo). Now I have deactivated the intern decoder of the audigy 2 zs. Now it is possible to hear dvd in dolby digital 5.! But only dvd!

In the system management I can check the channels seperately but when I see the acoustic waves (symbolic on screen) from the centre speaker but I can't hear anything! Please help me.

If anyone has the same problem, not sure what caused it as everything was working before, but a driver update fixed things up. Hi,I'm now using Ideapad Z510. After upgraded to Windows 8.1. I'd went to the Lenovo website searching for new driver update.

But, after i install the 'Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.7023', the 'Dolby Home Theater V4' is not running(audio sound not playing through). And, the 'Dolby Digital Plus' is running instead of 'Dolby Home Theater V4'. Then, when I try to reinstall the older version 'Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.6954' from Lenovo website, the 'Dolby Home Theater V4' is running again.

Truly, the 'Dolby Digital Plus's sound is crisper and louder than 'Dolby Home Theater V4'. But the sound of 'Dolby Home Theater V4' has more bass and more function (like Graphic Equalizer, more Intelligent Equalizer etc.). Is this an update or what? What should I choose? The newer driver (for Windows 8.1) or older driver (for Dolby Home Theater V4)?

(confused now) @@ Hi all Could you try out DAA or DHTLightweight from my link and just install the Dolby software without overriding your Realtek Driver? I am not sure whether would it work, but worth a try. I have tried on Y460, W520 and G560 with great experience. If the older Dolby software does not work with your existing Realtek driver, you could install the DAA or DHTLightweight with their driver to overwrite and see how it goes. I have had enough of the waiting for new drivers to come out for any of the creative sound cards that decode dolby digital and DTS. All of us Sound Blaster card owners deserve to know if out cards will ever get this ENTRY LEVEL feature in our hardware again.

I need to start upgrading my system and i need to know that if i go with the top of the line X-FI card with X-RAM, it will get dolby functionality soon. If not, i am willing to forgo the X-RAM and go with a competitor card that does everything under vista without problems, albeit with lower versions of EAX. So come on creative, let me have it, hit me and all the other creative soundblaster owners with the truth. Do i keep my hopes up of dolby digital decoding under vista, or do i go elswhere?

Creative has really dropped the ball on Vista support. Not being to integrate my PC speakers with my entertainment system as I had with XP is mighty annoying.

It's strange that the?Creative beta drivers?would decode anything I could throw at it. Then all of a sudden?the so called release drivers mysteriously loose this ability. Hi, I'm running Premiere Pro CC on Mac 10.8.4 importing MTS files captured on a new Panasonic V720 Camcorder that records MTS / AVCHD files.

When I add the files to my project or drop them onto the timeline, the video appears fine but there's no audio and I get the warning message: 'This installation does not have a license to decode Dolby Digital audio'. I've tried switching from 5.1 to 2-channel audio on the camera in case that was the issue, no change. The file plays fine on the mac with VLC player or MPlayer - mplayer is decoding audio with the FFmpeg AC-3 codec.

I've imported MTS files created with other cameras (but presumably with different audio codecs) into Premiere fine with my current setup. Any suggestions for getting this video and audio to work correctly?

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. I have checked my audio preference settings and don't really see anything in there that looks helpful.the following are my settings: The LG TV is actually hooked up through a 7.1 receiver.I'm not sure why it registers the home theater unit as the tv.but 5.1 does play through my PC just fine with every other program. I've been playng around with the various export settings and have found that I can successfully export 5.1 audio using the H.264 preset and switching the channels in the audio tab to 5.1.

You cannot, however, do the same with the H.264 Blu-ray preset as it requires the above mentioned SurCode for compression. I'm guessing that means the non-Blu-ray preset is then uncompressed? The projects that I'm setting up are very basic.

I'm just using a single mp3 import and snapping it to one of the rear speakers. While editing, the sound does fade from the front channels but nothing comes out of the rear channels. I guess I'm just having a hard time understanding why PPCC can export 5.1 but not play it back while editing. Thanks again for the responses. Just last week i got new some movies from iTunes for playback on my iPad 2, including the HDTV. However since last 2 days i'm unable to find the 2 track option that appear during the usual playback on the iPad. There now seems to be no option where i select the DD 5.1 for output playback.

(BTW the movies are encoded with Dolby Digital 5.1) Can anyone please help me on this, if you guys can check is the 2-track option available while watching movies on iPad 2. Or is it just me who is unable to find it despite these movies being encoded in DD 5.1.

Ok Im having EXTREME problems, Im so so so dissapointed in this motherboards sound (MSI Neo4 Platinum) When I saw that it had 7.1 I was sure it was dolby digital compatible, but its just this junky crap analog setup. Now Ive been looking into sound cards, and I have no clue what to do. From what I've read my old board (Nforce2 Ultra) was the only SOUnd chip, ONBOARD or SOUND CARD to have DOLBY DIGITAL ENCODING. Encoding = sends dolby digital 5.1 to my Home Theater setup. I have a 7.1 Harmon Kardon, and with my nforce 2 ultra, the coaxial digital output to my surroudn receiver came in as dolby digital, and the sound was incredibly, now Ive got this crap hissing analog sound on a NFORCE 4 Ultra. I really hate Nvidia for their decision on dropping soundstorm, And now Im trying to to hookup my computer to my receiver to get digital and digital 5.1 ( I dont absolutely need 7.1 for my computer).

Does anyone know of any sound cards that have DOLBY DIGITAL 5.1/ EX, DTS, ENCODING. Not decoding, all of them do decoding, but encoding. From what Ive read. Is needed to output true 5.1 to my home receiver. Quote from: master0068 on 11-February-05, 09:47:05 One thing that just blows my mind. Is Why the.

did the dumb a$$es include Optical and Coaxial outputs on these boards. (MSI NEO4 Platinum) and many other Nforce 4 ultra boards. If they arent even dolby digital, and they dont even have ENCODERS, than why would you use digital ouputs???

Becuase PC's 'evolve' and end up with 'items' which where required once, but then become the PC equivelent of the human 'appendix'. Your taking for granted that even dolby DECODERS have always been around. They wern't, and at first the only way to get surround from DVD' was to use the SPDIF to an external decoder. Download ffdshow tryout filters from url='these filters are simply great for Vista they were actually written for it unlike previous versions of ffdshow.

Thanks to those babies I have full XviD x264 and so on playback even in Media Center. Vista still crashes due to the driver issue though still waiting for proper drivers from Creative for my overpriced Audigy 2zs platinum pro. Funnily enough the drivers dated March 6th check out to be dated as the 2th of February if you view them through Device Manager, so that's over 2 months of problems and not a single driver update. Waiting and hoping.Message Edited by euphoriaaus on 04-9-200703:52 AM Quote from: debounced on 27-January-13, 10:40:17 Hello, I purchased a mini to TOSLINK optical cable to connect my GT70 0NC to my Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speaker system and I was wondering if the ALC892 supports Dolby Digital Live. I'm able to get DTS and Dolby Digital to work just fine, but I don't see an option to change the default format of the digital output in the Realtek HD Audio Manager to Dolby Digital Live.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with the latest audio drivers available. Thanks I hate saying this. Do yourself a favor, go buy an Asus Xonar U3, plug it in, and you will be much happier. I have a Z680 (precursor to the Z5500, pretty much the same thing though), and I couldn't stand how bad the Realtek HD performed. The Asus Xonar does a much better job. You hook it up, set it to output to the 'speakers', but have your TOSLINK cable connected, and you get upconverted dolby digital live sound output. Couldn't ask for anything better.

The U3 only runs about $40, so it's not a huge investment. Greetings, I am a longtime Photoshop and now Lightroom user but have done my video editing in another product for years. I moved to the Creative suite and Production Premium and Encore workflow and am trying to transition.

After 2 exceedingly frustrating Adobe support calls I gave up. I have 2 questions.one I answered myself. It appears that to create a Dolby Digital 5.1 SD DVD or Blu-Ray disc you need to purchase an additional add-on codec to the tune of $200.

Don't like it (as my $200 full package video editor includes it) but if true, than it is what it is. I saw some previous posts like this but then there were conflicts.

Second question. Exactly what do I have to purchase (are some better than others) and then how does it affect the disc making process in encore. Or the editing process in Prod Premium? Is there a tutorial or something? I found the encor FAQ to not be very helpful and possibilty mis-leading.

It makes it seem that this is an ADVANTAGE. Does Encore DVD 2.0 support Dolby® Digital 5.1? A: Yes, Encore DVD allows you to create DVDs containing Dolby Digital 5.1 content. However, Dolby Digital 5.1 content must be created in another application. The integrated Dolby Digiin audio reproduction, Encore DVD 2.0 supports the DTS audio format, in addition to the Dolby Digital format supported in earlier versions. Now, regardless of which of these two popular formats you prefer, creating the final results you want is easy with Adobe Encore DVD 2.0.

So Production premium supports a 5.1 workflow.the integration with Encore is touted.but I have to go OUTSIDE the suite to make a 5.1 audio disc that my $200 NLE currently can do? Or is the plugin just an additional cost that is transparent.you push the button and it encodes. Finally, for clarification, I do not try to import or maintain a 5.1 stream to a camera or anything. I just utilize the 5.1 channels to create a nice dialogue and music ambient mix. I put what I want in each channel. Pr Prem seems to support this.

I just want it to burn to SD and BD with 5.1. Thanks for any help! BJBBJB1 As I'm undertanding (sorry but being italian, I've sometimes problems in translation) I hope this will help: -In PP, you import all your clips (audio or not) and, of course your dolby files (example.ac3) -when everything is done (effects, transitions, etc.), PP'll encode your project giving you one customed video (as you wish) and your dolby audio file. If you have put in this project some stereo audio file, PP will give you anyway a Dolby encoded file (it will be a 'pseudo' dolby). Now you can: - import them in Encore as assets dragging them in the timeline later -import them as timeline, so you'll already find them in the new timeline -use DinamicLink from Encore (File Project DinamicLink import a Premiere project) as Jeff says If you already have a dolby audio file imported in Encore, you'll choose the audio option 'do not Trascode' so the audio project you've created in PP will not be modified and you'll output a brand new Dolby audio file. Hope this will help you Sorry in advance if I missed any in translation. Ques: My sound card Sound Blaster Li've 5.

Dolby Digital and dts sound can come through my speaker? Q: From the description of you soundcard of the Creative website, it looks as though you should have dolby digital decoding capability, but I'm not sure why your AC3 option would be missing (my option is in the advanced playback settings). Q2: If it turns out your card is not capable of decoding AC3, then you can use a version of PowerDVD or WinDVD with Dolby Digital/DTS decoding capability (not usually available in the free versions). This will let you get DD/DTS using the analogue connections to your speakers.

Q3: The Audigy 2 can decode both DD and DTS so you will be able to use the analogue connections to your speakers to get 5. Surround sound. Maybe you are looking for. Hi all. It is possible to utilize an iMac 24 as a monitor for a MacPro?.

Desktop theater 5.1 DTT2200 sound system - can it be used for Apple computers I want to switch over to an Apple Mac Desktop and would like to use a speaker system used when I had a windows OS. The sound system is desktop theater 5.1 DTT2200 made by Cambridge Soundworks. The link cable between the desktop and the Hub/ Bass unit is one sheath but contains 3 cables. At each end are 3 phono plugs = 1 x orange, 1 X Black, 1 X Green.

I have asked around as to what conversion boxes or connectors are needed and if the I mac sound card can support the speaker system, as previously with the windows OS, a sound card was used. Unfortunately, I am getting mixed messages - A toslink was mentioned at one stage but nobody has given a definitive answer about the (a) connector/ adaptor needed and (b) if the I mac or mc mini has suitable hardware/ software to use the sound system I'd be grateful for your thoughts Best Douig.
